Fequently Asked Questions

While our focus is on personalised service, there are a number of common questions our clients have asked us over the years. We've compiled some of them here.

If you don't find the information you are looking for or if you have additional questions, we encourage you to get in touch to discuss your specific needs.

How Much Does Feast Restaurant Consulting Cost?

Feast bills by the hour at rates that often vary according to the specifics of the work required. The client is always updated as to the progress of work performed and work yet to be done; Feast’s mantra is to only bill for ‘added value’ hours to ensure the highest value for the client. Feast continually invests in the knowledge and skill of its consultants and is proud to offer bright and innovative solutions and insights in all of our work and recommendations.

For preparing bank-ready business plans, the costs are typically 0.5-2% of the total value of funding you are seeking, depending on the work and research required.

Is a Deposit Required?

Yes. This deposit is applied to your last consulting invoice.

Payment Methods & Terms

Feast Culinary Consulting accepts payment by cheque, e-transfer or credit card. If paying by credit card a charge of 2.9% will be added to your invoice. Payment information is included with every invoice. Payment terms vary by type of project.

Our Company has our own agreement for contractors and consultants. Can we use this instead?

Yes. If your consulting contract includes similar terms and conditions to ours, we are happy to use yours.

Can I Hire Feast Consults on Retainer?

If Feast has been consulting with a Client on an ongoing basis some clients prefer Feast to stay familiar 'in touch' with the restaurant and work completed. For instance, often systems will need to be periodically and simply checked to ensure they are still intact. Other clients want to simply stay in touch with us and keep Feast consultancy as a sounding board and ‘on their team’. In these cases, we would set the client up on retainer. This ensures that we set aside those hours for the client so they always have access to us when needed. We find that if clients have pre-paid for hours, they will pro-actively use them, which serves the initial objective of keeping Feast involved.

The minimum for a monthly retainer charge is for 4 hours per month.

What if I want to stop working with Feast before the contract ends?

We have written our contract to be as least onerous to our clients as possible. We simply request that you settle up your last invoice right away and that’s it. With the exception of the retainer fees which are non-refundable once paid, we do not have any termination charges built into our agreement.

I’m not a Restaurant, can you still help me?

Yes. The methods, process and knowledge we use with restaurant and food-business clients, we can apply to other businesses and industries. Feast has experience in consumer-packaged goods from food manufacturing to personal electronics, with distributors in the shipping industry to providers of services such as direct marketing.
